Rio Carnaval is often called'the greatest party on Earth'. The centerpiece of the world famous four-day party is the Samba Parade - a competition of vast scale. This year thirteen neighborhood samba schools, often with thousands of costumed dancers, will down parade aboard themed floats down a parade course nearly nearly half-a mile long.
At the center of the world famous Rio Carnaval is the Samba Parade - a fierce competition of vast scale among 13 neighborhood samba schools. Between all of the schools the competition is fierce! Watching them are a panel of expert judges, over 60,000 spectators, and a TV audience of nearly half a billion. It's a place where dreams can be realized, but also a place where hopes can be shattered. The unexpected is always expected during one of the largest parties on earth, and INSIDE RIO CARNAVAL is right there finding out how Rio survives and Carnaval continues to thrive.
