Fagil Musa Mandy is a renown educationist and performing artiste. Born in 1948, Fagil had his education at the National Teachers' College Kyambogo where he received a Diploma in Education (English Language/physical Education). He later joined Makerere University, Kampala where he was awarded  with Bachelor of Arts- English Language/Literature/ Music Dance and Drama. He later went abroad to the prestigious, Leeds University for his Masters Degree in (Drama & Theatre Arts In play writing & directing). Fagil is well travelled. He has held a number of responsibilities in the education and arts sector including being a Headmaster for Primary Schools, Banking Officer, Libyan Arab Uganda Bank, General Manager, Silver Springs Hotel, Lecturer, Makerere University Department of Music Dance and Drama, Director Inspectorate of National Resistance Movement Secretariat Kampala, Deputy Commissioner for education, Ministry of Education & Sports, Commissioner for Inspectorate Ministry of Education & Sports, Special Advisor to the Vice President of the Republic of Uganda on matters of co-operatives and education, Education Consultant; Fagil Mandy Education Consultancy [Fame-con], Consultant on Inspection; Ministry of Education and Sports, Proprietor and Founder of Gilman Valley Resort and Gilman Hotel, Kasambya (medium size rural Hotels).
Fagil has also held the following responsibilities:
Chairman and founder member: Miandu Theatre Company (writing,                                                            directing and staging plays in English for adults and young people.)  Member:    Adjudication Committee Uganda, National Cultural Center (selecting annual best play scripts, productions and actors at the national level), Secretary:  Uganda Writers' Association (playwrights, novelists and poets), Board member: Uganda Posts and Telecommunication, Chairman: Universal Primary Education Implementation                     Committee,  Member and later Chairman: Uganda National Examination Board, Member:   Wild Life Education Center Board, Pioneer Member: Innovation At Makerere Committee                                   (l@mak.Com.) sponsored by Rockefeller and The World Bank,  Co-author: New Rorash English Course for Uganda Primary Schools (Heinemann Publishers), Member:    Ministry of Agriculture (NAADS) Task Force                                  for the establishment of the National Policy on Agriculture Education, Founding Director: The Golden Drama Foundation Limited, Board Member:      Eastern Africa Theatre Institute (Uganda                                  Chapter) and Chairman Theatre Exchange Festivals and Networking Committee; Uganda Theatre Network) and previously was  Member Board of Trustee for the Uganda National Cultural Centre.
His Literally Works include:  Writing 7 full length plays (unpublished), Directing 135 stage plays,  Acted in 25 plays including The Skin of Our Teeth as Antrobas, organized by the American Embassy,             Kampala, Presented 88 public lectures, Written an anthology of Poetry (un published).
Fagil is an author of a number of published inspiring and self help book among is "Self Engineering", and the "Top secrets of educating your child"
