The Feature Film:

"The Ugandan" is a film by director Patrick Sekyaya and reached international acknowledgment. It had premieres in Boston, Los Angeles and at the FESPACO film festival in Burkina Faso.

The movie shows the complexity of relationships in the Ugandan society as a result of Idi Amin's displacement of Asians in 1972.
It tells the story of Raman, an Indian, who claims the property of his father after Idi Amin´s regime has ended.

When Raman's daughter falls in love with a Ugandan, things get even more complicated. It´s a riveting story of lies, love and xenophobia and indicates the challenge of inter-racial relationships in a country where polarization has created deep mistrust on all sides.

UG, 2013, 75 min, Patrick Sekyaya
