The major objective of medical illustration is to assist in diagnosis and management of diseases. It promotes communication in the biomedical fields. Medical artists play very important roles in research and dissemination of biomedical information to both specialists in the medical profession and lay persons.
A medical illustrator has for a long time been an essential member of any medical team whose aim is to research and teach.
