NSG Theme 2015 " THIS IS UGANDA"

The National Street Gallery will launch its permanent base at Uganda National Theatre outdoor space where visual artists from across the global will work together with local Ugandan painters and installation artists to create the first real Street Art space in Uganda.
Based on a yearly theme, inspired by the people and society, the artists will create large art pieces together which will then be exhibited for free viewing on our installed canvas walls for a full year. After a year the art works shall be painted over with works inspired by a new theme.
On our National Street Gallery event we shall have a red carpet reception for our donors and partners to auction art pieces, these will be works from the participating guest artists and this section is by invite only.

As a Partner
We welcome you and/or your company to be part of the National Street Gallery, a non-commercial gallery for street art in Uganda and a new source of tourism marketing the Uganda visual art scene. Partnering and sponsoring us will give you various benefits including tickets for the red carpet event and promotional options for your company.
As an Artist
We invite visual artists from all over the world to join us in this event and make public street art together. Work together in addressing Uganda's societal issues by intercultural exchange through art making. Participation in the event can also provide you with an opportunity to exhibit your work for auction.

Note:
1. The art works sold at the National Street Gallery Uganda benefits 60% to the NSG outreach projects and 40% is for the artist.
2. The art works created are to inspire for a positive change in Ugandan communities and not for personal interest, so we encourage Ugandan visual artists to be activists in their works as a nonviolent mean to contribute to a change.
3. The National Street Gallery committee reserve a right to paint it over and the space shall be available to artists from outside Uganda visiting at any time of the year to create a major art piece for the Uganda community.
