Mediavision Academy is a film institute that evolved from Mediavision Productions, a film and TV production house in Kampala.  Having been in business for over 10 years, the company identified a gap in the film and TV production profession characterized by inadequate screen storytelling and Television programing.  In addition, majority of the interns that were sent to Mediavision from different Universities and media schools lacked the minimum production skills. In the years a basic training manual was designed to empower interns with the basics.  To extend the training to a wider spectrum of professionals, an academy was opened in January 2014. The Academy offers diploma and Certificate courses in Film Production and Television Production Management.

OUR VISION

To be Uganda's leading film and Television training institute that produces creative and competent professionals.

OUR MISSION

To develop and promote the film and Television profession in Uganda through a wholesome training that provides the knowledge, skills and values to the professionals in the sector.

TRAINING

The training is designed to give the student an overview of the most common approaches used in the packaging of motion pictures, sound and graphics for effective communication. This course responds to the sharp demand of professionals in the TV and Film industry as well as local content by various Television networks.

The training is designed to strike a balance between theory and practice. Students are expected to attend daily classes, write weekly tests, a mid-term exam, a final theory exam and a final practical exam. In the first year, students are introduced to the theory and basic practice. At the end of the first year students are attached to leading media houses as interns and present a report with outputs upon completion. More time is allotted to practice and writing of the final project in the second year.
