Singer and composer Abdelwahab Doukali is one of the heroes of Moroccan pop music, rising in the sixties. Shaabi, popular groups, were notably present in the Moroccan cities. Doukali's performance, influenced by Moroccan and Egyptian folk music, remains powerful and convincing.
