Lady Slyke has been active on the Ugandan music scene as a Rapper, Performer and Song-writer since the late 90s.She is the first female to rap in Luganda (referred to as Lugaflow). She has performed at local and international festivals i.e. East Africa Talent Convention, Bayimba International Festival of the Arts, HipHop Unplugged and Wapi among others. Her "Mother Africa" song in which she features with various artists was nominated in Palm Awards and won as the Best Hip-Hop Song of 2005. Slyke believes in the power of music to empower youth and a tutor to many young artists, teaching rap poetry and song-writing.She has collaborated with GNL, Vampino, Sylvester and Abramz, Jahcity to name a few, as well as European hip-hop musicians. When she's not making music or anchoring on NewzBeat Uganda, a weekly TV show.
