Originally from Durban she was often told to become an animator when her classmates in primary school saw her drawings. Her love of films and animations in particular led her to see a future in this industry.

She moved up to Johannesburg and enrolled in AFDA (African Film and Drama Academy) where she majored in animation, each year of her study one of her films were shown in the annual AFDA festival out of the many that were made by the students, and in her graduating year she was nominated for best animator and best animation. She came to work for Creative Vision after her studies where she specializes in 2d animation (her first love).
