Michel Gondry's first feature was the 2001 "Human Nature", which was shown at Cannes. "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" won him an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay, shared with Charlie Kaufman and Pierre Bismuth. Next came "The Science of Dreams" and "Be Kind Rewind", shown at the Sundance and Berlin film festivals. He directed an episode of "Tokyo" (Cannes 2008) and "The Thorn in my Heart" (Cannes 2009). In 2010 he adapted "The Green Hornet" then shot "The We and the I" (Cannes 2012 - Directors' Fortnight) in 2011 in the Bronx.

Like many of his colleagues, French filmmaker Michel Gondry began his career as a television ad director, and with music videos for artists such as the Rolling Stones, Björk or Daft Punk. The director, screenwriter and producer presented his feature film debut, "Human Nature", in 2001. He received an Academy Award for his film "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind". His films "The Science of Sleep" and "Be Kind Rewind" both screened out of competition in the Berlinale Competition programme. His documentary "Dave Chapelle's Block Party" was presented in 2006 in Panorama, where his animation "Is the Man Who Is Tall Happy?" will celebrate its European premiere in 2014. In addition, Michel Gondry has most recently directed such diverse productions as "The Green Hornet", starring Seth Rogen and Christoph Waltz, "The We and the I", and "Mood Indigo" [L'écume des jours], starring Roman Duris and Audrey Tautou.

Wie viele seiner Kollegen begann der französische Filmemacher Michel Gondry seine Karriere mit dem Inszenieren von Werbespots sowie Musikvideos für Künstler wie die Rolling Stones, Björk oder Daft Punk. Sein Spielfilmdebüt gab der Regisseur, Drehbuchautor und Produzent 2001 mit "Human Nature". Für "Vergiss mein nicht!" wurde er mit einem Oscar ausgezeichnet. Mit "Science of Sleep - Anleitung zum Träumen" und "Abgedreht" war er bereits zweimal außer Konkurrenz im Wettbewerb der Berlinale vertreten. Den Dokumentarfilm "Dave Chappelle's Block Party" präsentierte er 2006 im Panorama, wo nun 2014 auch "Is the Man Who Is Tall Happy?" seine Europapremiere feiern wird. Zuletzt inszenierte Gondry außerdem so unterschiedliche Spielfilme wie "The Green Hornet" mit Seth Rogen und Christoph Waltz, "The We and the I" und "Der Schaum der Tage"[L'écume des jours] mit Roman Duris und Audrey Tautou.
