Born in 1948 in Tangier, professor and then Inspector General of Philosophy in Rabat until 1984, in 1973 he founded the National Federation of Moroccan Film Clubs, of which he was President until 1983. He was a film critic in the written press, on radio and TV for several years, and a screenwriter-novelist and film producer.
He was programme director of Moroccan Television (TVM) (1984-1986), audiovisual adviser to the president of the ONA group (1989-1990), programme director of Canal+Horizons (1990-2000), managing director of 2M (2nd Moroccan television channel) (April 2000- September 2003), and from 2003 to 2014 director of the Moroccan Cinema Centre (CCM).
He also founded and directed the Khourigba film festival.
He died on 16th December 2020 in Rabat (Morocco) as a result of covid-19.
