Sam Okello is a former Ugandan child soldier that has seen a phenomenal transformation of his life story into a renowned performing artist and philanthropist. He is the founder of Hope North, an educational institution that takes cares of former victims of the Lord's Resistence Army's Joseph Kony. He has had a tremendous effect on the local cultural scene through his cultural troupe called Mizizi that performs tradition al folk music and dance. His first break into the film industry came when he was cast into the award winning movie, The Last King of Scotland that featured Hollywood bigwig Forrest Whitaker. The film was shot in Uganda and was internationally acclaimed. Sam played a rather peripheral role but one that swung him into other film prospects.
