Michael J. Rix est né le 20 Mars 1974 à Johannesburg (Afrique du Sud).
Rix began with clay-mation whilst a student at the Pretoria Technikon Film and Television School. He has since tackled almost every job in the industry, writing, directing and editing. He wrote, directed and edited the feature "Man in the Street", which screened at Cannes in 2003. "Tengers", which Rix wrote and storyboarded in 1999, is South Africa's first clay-mation feature film.
